Miasmah 20 years / New website
Miasmah turns 20 years old in 2026, since starting to release physical editions(!). Although it was started in its earlier form even before that, this is the year which was decided to count from as a official starting point.
It´s quite unreal to think about really. Miasmah started out as a solo bedroom project way back in the late 90ies, and has somehow been hanging in there through all these years of ups and downs. 2006 saw it move from open-source digital files & MP3 releases to CD´s and later vinyl releases. Musically, Miasmah has also changed quite a lot from its initial start – although i would argue it has kept true to itself since its 2006 official start with the “Silva compilation“. Many of the artists featured there ended up releasing records on Miasmah, and this sound has both remained and evolved over all the years.

For the ones who remember the early years, Miasmah used to have new crazy websites (often flash based) all the time (probably over 20 variations and versions between 1999 and 2009). It´s strange to see how this has globally developed into a more streamlined, info-based and uniform thing. Then again i´m kind of glad to not have to push out crazy, animated websites anymore. It´s now been 15 years or so since the last re-design, so it´s about time with something new. With a huge thanks to Maxwell August Croy, the new Miasmah website for the first time (!) has a proper back-end which is not just html / Dreamweaver based. Thank god for that. It´s still designed by myself in a low-key old meets new design based on our “sister-label” Sonic Pieces´s web. Nothing groundbreaking or major difference, but something that keeps a foot in the old internet, and a foot in the new. I hope you like it. There might be more developments and additions coming to it, but for now we launch the new site as a way to celebrate 20 years. A huge thanks to everyone who has participated, listened and interacted with Miasmah over the years. We have an exciting year to come, with the first new release coming Spring, and a label-night in Brussels at the Ancienne Belgique March 7th.
